Proof Load Testing of Hoisting Hooks

When manufacturing process, material, or configuration is verified with proof tests, the hooks shall be able to withstand the application of proof load without permanent deformation. This condition shall be considered to have been satisfied if the permanent increase in the throat opening does not exceed 1% or 0.02 in. (0.5 mm), whichever is greater
